Community, Compassion & Connection

We invite you to gather here in a space that is guided by community, compassion and
connection in support of an individuals journey through Recovery from Eating Issues or an Eating Disorder.

Eating in the light of the moon
Dr. Anita Johnston

“A labyrinth is an ancient and mysterious archetype. It consists of one pathway that loops back repeatedly upon itself, reaching the centre and then winds its way back out again. Unlike a maze, there are no barriers, false turns, or dead ends. The women on the road to recovery from disordered eating began with a journey that required them to follow a twisting, turning, winding path to their centres.

It requires them to leave behind old perceptions of themselves that they had adopted from others and to reclaim their own inner authorities. They had to find themselves letting go of all expectation of linear progress, disengaging the rational mind, and embracing the power of their emotions and intuition. As they walk this labyrinth, there are times they felt trapped, lost, bored, disoriented, frustrated, or anxious, but they keep on going, placing one foot in front of the other. Finding their centres, is not the end of the journey.

They then must spiral outwardly, integrating this new vision with their extended world."

Social and Community Participation Activities Using your NDIS Plan

We welcome individuals that are looking to utilise their NDIS funding to access community-based activities and assistance to participate in social groups.

We are not registered as an NDIS service provider, however many of our participants use their NDIS Social and Community Participation funding to access our offerings. Both self-managed and Plan Managed can use their NDIS funding to attend our offerings.

For parents/carers/loved ones/support workers and support coordinators that are looking at community-based activities for their loved ones/clients, these are some of the areas our community offerings cover:

Assisting participants to develop their social skills and engaging with their community through social activities

Building participants relationship skills and offering a range of activities and opportunities to explore wider interests

The above examples are provided to support parent/carers/support workers and support coordinators, highlighting how our space might align with individuals goals and funding.

We would love to hear from you to discuss in more detail the services we offer and how you can access them through your NDIS plan.

Each day we meet and honour the land in which we gather. Here on the land of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Peoples. We would like to acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and culture and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We pledge our ongoing solidarity with the traditional owners and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in their struggle for recognition of sovereignty, historical truths and justice.
